It is great for the beginner as it provides the theory, the software and the trading system. The software itself is one of the easiest charting packages to use that I have seen, as it offers only a focused range of indicators and functions. Simplicity is especially vital for the beginner. Premium Data software delivers information in an uncluttered format so charts can be read accurately and can be easily understood.
Jim Berg’s Home Study course takes users through the steps of his system so they can start after just a few hours of study. Part of the study course is a trading plan template that guides you through writing your own trading plan. If, like me, you realise how important a trading plan is, but you are unsure where to start or how detailed to make it, this will assist greatly.
The study course gives the most comprehensive training on applied position sizing I have yet encountered in a course format, and I found this most practical. One other positive feature is that running costs are low, as the software uses end-of-day data. I also like the concept of the newsletter offered separately. It supports the trading system by explaining the ‘notional trades’ for that week, detailing some of the entry triggers that have been generated so the user can investigate them and learn using current examples. This is definitely a complete package for the beginner.
